Studi Klub Tari "BINCANG TARI"
Studi Klub Tari is a monthly small discussion forum where young dancers, choreographers, dance music composers and dance critics are meeting to share ideas, experience and opinion, and also to discuss chosen topics about recent issues in dance context.
The Studi Klub Tari is a discussion forum with open membership that seeks to develop a healthy method of speaking and sharing opinion in forum in smaller scale. It is expected to be continues productive learning process and encourage the member to raise their interest to knowledge by providing literary materials.
The Studi Klub tari at Padepokan Lemah Putih is a Thursday evening discussions meeting which led by one moderator.

1. January 21st 2008 at Padepokan Lemah Putih
“Tubuh yang meruang, ruang yang menubuh”
„The body that becomes space, the spaces that becomes the body“.
Starting from the question how a dancer or choreographer perceive the space as a stage and broaden the perception that a space can become a sociological and language phenomenon, the discussion which was attended by young artists from different backgrounds, went to interesting point by mentioning the necessity of perceiving space to have differences of identity and ideology.
2. February 28th 2008 at Padepokan Lemah Putih
The discussion was focusing on the question: how far a dancer or choreographer needs to understand the biography or history of their dance body, the history of the subjectivity of movement? And how those answer maximize the body becoming a web of signs and language codes?

How can an art work become a metaphor beyond itself? How are the influences of using symbols in the context? How importance is the transformation process of ideas into the body?
4. April 29th 2008 at Forum Pinilih, Jl. Kalikuantan II no.5, Jagalan, Solo
Antara Koreografi dan Eksekusi Visual.
“Between choreography and visual execution”
Regarding to the presentation of three works by Guntur As, Yashinta and Masda at the Taman Budaya Jawa Tengah Solo, the discussion was focused on how the visual executions became an importance critical areas for choreographer. The discussion developed to the problematical aspect of education at the art school in Solo and how the lack of references and knowledge on visual artistic.
5. May 27th 2008 at Studio Maniratari, Ringin Semar, Solo
“Metode dan Daya Hidup”
“method and life endurance”
Studio Maniratari is a dance company that has been existing since over 20 years, directed by Wied Senja. In the Bincang Tari this time, we led the meeting into sharing of experience and methods of working. Studio Maniratari has proved their high disciplines of working through their pieces and the strong characteristic of each choreographer. Dance and life are two things that united. The most obvious character of the members is their eager to develop and gain knowledge, to later on develop their own methods.
6. June 30th 2008 at Forum Pinilih
“Belantara Estetika”
“The wildness of Aesthetics”
Bincang Tari in this session was attended not only by dancers or choreographers, but also actors, visual artists and art critics. The meeting was subjected to the history of aesthetics and other phenomenon that causes forces aesthetics perceptions.
7. July 31st 2008 at Teater Arena Taman Budaya Jawa Tengah Surakarta
“Desain Kelompok”
“ A group design”
The meeting was regarded to the presentation of Dedy Satya Amijaya’s work entitled “Voyage of IE III”. The production was a collaboration with the Independent Expression (IE) group. Bincang Tari was interested to focus on the history and life of the IE group, which is one of the established group that has been existing for more than eight years and has been formed by young dance, music and stage design practitioners. It was interesting to peel up the necessity to have such group in Solo in order to support their independencies of management, structures and work mechanism. The group has been functioning as a strategy for collaborations and creative laboratory that differs them from the traditional theatre group.
