Tran Luong

Tran Luong was born in Hanoi in 1960, lives and works in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Tran Luong is a visual artist, performance artist, and curator. He studied at the Hanoi Fine Arts Institute and finished in 1983. He has participated in many group exhibitons and festivals, among them are the 2nd Fukuoka Trienale Japan, House of World Culture Berlin, Liverpool Bienal of Contemporary Art 2002, Future of Imagination 3 Singapore, Asiatopia 8 Bangkok. He has also done many solo exhibitions such as in Tokyo Gallery - Tokyo, Herbert F.Johnson Museum of Art.Cornell University Ithaca-New York, Goethe Institut Hanoi, British Council Hanoi, Reyum Institute Pnohm Penh. Tran Luong has given workshops and conferences for Art Network Asia Workshops in Shanghai 2000, 1st and 2nd Moma‘s East Asian Museum Professionals New York City and Los Angeles 2001, Public Art In(ter)vention Symposium-Chiang Mai 2005, Trans POP Symposium Korea-Vietnam Remix- Arko Art Center Seoul, and many others.
Tran Luong was co-founder of Co-founder and running Nha San Duc, the first independent artspace in Vietnam since 1998, Founder and running the Hanoi Contemporary Art Center ( 2000-2003), one of the borad director of Art Network Asia and Cultural Development and Exchange Fund (Denmark - Vietnam Fund for Contemporary Arts).
